Position Summary

Successfully promotes and markets the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas and Catholic Charities Foundation of Northeast Kansas as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings while working as an Interactive Media Manager. EEO

Primary Accountabilities

  1. Website development and design including creating and maintaining overall websites (external and intranet) including editing and updating copy and code, creating landing pages, email templates, display ads and implementing the agency's blog (HTML5, CSS3, & CMS).
  2. Build/maintain WordPress website including CMS and implement improvements to assist in site functionality, performance optimization, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and email deployments.
  3. Assist with the agency's creative asset design and visual branding including creating and maintaining traditional and digital media such as: advertisements, marketing collaterals, flyers, signs, brochures, promotional displays, newsletter templates and presentation pieces.
  4. Assist with internal and outsourced animation and video production.
  5. Work on all phases of a marketing project from concept and design to production.
  6. Communicate the thought process behind the proposed online development and tradigital design solutions and collaborate with the agency's program staff. Establish and maintain a trusted relationship with program staff, presenting ideas and rationales and being a partner in design best practices.
  7. Creatively translate marketing communication strategies into clear and compelling online development and graphic design solutions in traditional and digital mediums.
  8. Work with the marketing team, outside vendors and internal clients such as graphic artists, printers and program personnel regarding marketing requests and programs.
  9. Exercise, initiate or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the agency.

 Position Requirements

  1. Preserves the ethical standards of Catholic Charities and the development profession. 
  2. Must be willing to live by the agency's Values, where we are called to show Love, Patience, Kindness, Faithfulness, Self- Control and Joy.
  3. 2+ years of experience designing, building, implementing and managing responsive web pages and dynamic, database-driven sites.  Skilled in the use of multiple web development, graphics, desktop publishing, and content management applications.
  4. 2+ years of experience in the graphic design field including advanced working knowledge of graphics software; such as Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator experience required, InDesign preferred.
  5. Effective communication skills: written, verbal and non-verbal, proofreading and editing skills.
  6. Required: Expertise in HTML5/CSS3, Javascript, SEO, SEM and web analytics.
  7. College degree required.
  8. Strong knowledge of design principles, typography, user interfaces, Web standards and usability.
  9. Experience with cross-browser development and testing.
  10. Capable of updating and enhancing existing website code base.
  11. High motivation for success coupled with diplomacy, tact, and consistent follow through.
  12. Self-starter who can work with minimum direction on multiple projects at different levels of completion and meet established deadlines.
  13. Willingness/ability to work independently and in a team.
  14. Works with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  15. Ability to translate designs into cross-browser compatible HTML/CSS.
  16. Online Portfolio for review, Nonprofit, Blackbaud, and Google Adwords experience, preferred but not necessary.

 Outcome Measures

  • Develop effective website development and design processes, support, reporting and communications tools in the first six months of hire and maintain timely and informative communication with key stakeholders which will be reviewed every quarter.
  • Lead website, intranet, blog and digital asset design, builds and maintenance. Review prioritization and status quarterly with supervisor.
  • All invoices you manage are processed within 72 hours and budgets are tracked efficiently and accurately.
  • Project deadlines are met.
  • Overall understanding of Catholic Charities programs and services increases.
  • Google Adwords campaigns and website analytics continue to show optimization and baseline improvement.
