  • Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas is looking for a person to  successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings while providing operations support to Shalom House including managing all guests and volunteers and maintaining positive relationships with community partners. EEO 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Attendance Monday – Friday 2:30 – 11:00 PM; if you are called in to work on Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday by your immediate Supervisor these hours should be reported on your worksheet, or our work schedule adjusted with approval of your Supervisor.
  • Supervise all guests and volunteers.
  • Ensure day to day activities are completed, including laundry, shopping, maintenance, mail; clean-up of internal and external facilities.
  • Schedule volunteers for nightly meals or prep/prepare dinner; receive/inventory clothes, donations, food, etc.
  • Conduct intakes between the hours of 4pm and 6pm
  • Respond to all phone calls, mail and e-mail in a timely manner and provide community referrals.  Maintain documentation and records pertaining to the program.  Maintain confidentiality of guests and volunteers.
  • Scheduling meals and activities such as Financial Literacy, support groups and AA
  • Promote the ethical stewardship of private and public funds in all operations.
  • Track and report pertinent information on Shalom House guests and program activities.
  • Maintain involvement and relationships with the community through presentations, tours of the facilities and participation in appropriate meetings, events, and coalitions.
  • Accurately report information (i.e., Accounting, Budgeting, MAACLink, and Time reporting, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Establish highly effective relationships with guests, volunteers, community agencies, related Catholic Charities organizations, and fellow members of the Catholic Charities staff.
  • Maintain clearly defined measurements of business performance to include guest statistics, financial data, and service evaluation results.
  • Assess guest needs and respond based upon resources available from Catholic Charities.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be Male 
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred and a minimum of one year experience in a social service organization, preferably working in a residential setting with
  • Candidates must be a male team players, demonstrate good listening and empathic skills, be able to multi-task and possess strong oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
