Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas is looking for a Cleaning Service Manager for it's commercial cleaning company to successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings while developing a successful cleaning Social Enterprise, known as Aspire, which employs recently resettled refugees at an above average wage, builds towards profitability and eventually contributes to program revenue.EEO

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works as an ambassador for the agency by educating all commercial accounts on the mission of Catholic Charities and its ministries.
  • Upsells to current clients if current customer service scores are 4 or higher (5 point scale). Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of client facilities in order to determine the type of additional services that may be provided.       Proposes additional services based on observation of client offices/potential needs. Hits or exceeds targeted sales goals.
  • Coordinates additional work with sub-contractors based on client need.
  • Prepares site inspection documentation; attends meetings with customers and property owners.
  • Hires, trains, develops and evaluates individual and team performance.       Conducts regular coaching and counseling with staff to build motivation and performance. Leads the ongoing development of a professional and customer focused culture.
  • Ensures that Team Leader(s) are effectively working with their crew to meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Ensures Team Leader(s) implement and support agency policies and procedures with their crews. Ensures crews are adhering to policies and procedures associated with client service levels. Constantly strives for improvement in work process and results to better meet client's expectations.
  • Partner with the General Manager to develop a plan that ensures consistency and efficiency with the New Start Process, including general cleaning.
  • Assists the General Manager in the development of a marketing plan for new business generation in order to meet financial goals. Assists the General Manager in managing the Aspire budget and ensures positive variance.
  • Develops safety procedures to ensure all cleaning supplies and chemicals are handled and stored according to any regulatory entities. Trains all staff members on these procedures and ensures that they are followed.
  • Creates and conducts an audit process to ensure that safety procedures and general cleaning guidelines are being followed.
  • Develops safety procedures that state what to do should someone suffer from a chemical burn or any other injury caused by the misuse of chemicals.   
  • Trains all staff members on these procedures and ensures that they are followed.
  • Identifies and recommends process improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.  

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Meets with the General Manager on a weekly basis to recap the previous week's work, customer complaints, and Aspire financials to ensure that Aspire is headed in the right direction. 

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum high school; Bachelor's degree preferred. Any combination of training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties as described can substitute for education.
  • Prior supervisory experience required, preferably in corporate cleaning or hospitality.
  • 3 years of customer service experience mandatory.
  • Multi-unit management experience a plus, demonstrating the ability to plan and organize effectively.

  • Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to work cooperatively and effectively with refugees and staff from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Must be able to provide superior customer service to clients including parishes and commercial account holders; ability to effectively solve problems and communicate directly.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
  • Valid Missouri or Kansas Driver's license. Must provide copy of Driver's License and proof of insurance for local travel.
  • Final applicant is required to complete a background check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to lift approximately 50 pounds. Repetitive motion required on a daily basis and may include bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, squatting, sitting and lifting.
