Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings while providing intensive case management services and financial education to individuals and families in need.  Through the Family Financial Transformation project, offering selected families who need a boost to achieve self-sufficiency with resources that move them from dependence to financial freedom. These include comprehensive financial counseling, case management and an array of financial classes.  Assess needs and provide consultation, support, direct assistance, information and referrals to community resources.    EEO


  • Demonstrate consistent high-level performance in a manner that enhances the method of service delivery for this project, which is driven by individual client and family needs rather than by specific program goals.
  • Manage work flow and workload assignments.
  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate all program self-sufficiency plans, outputs, and outcomes to ensure goals are met.
  • Participate in a highly collaborative partnership, in which choices are identified as well as consequences and self-sufficiency plans are developed and monitored on a frequent basis.  Contact with participant should occur no less than four times per month based on acuity.  Home visiting required.
  • Track data for service recipients.
  • Process referrals for assistance from parishes and other programs.
  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge base of Catholic Charities programming.
  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge base of community resources. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other self-sufficiency programming such as education, employment support and health care.
  • Advocate for clients with services providers, agencies, and in the community.
  • Represent and interpret the mission and work of the agency to the community.
  • Identify and maintaining a working knowledge of critical issues and trends in family self-sufficiency and economic security issues for low-income individuals.
  • Assist in management of FFT programming
  • Coordinate and oversee mentors for financial education programming
  • Oversee all VITA programming and coordination of VITA services.



  • Establish highly effective relationships with clients, community agencies, volunteers, and related Catholic Charities organizations.
  • Assess client needs and respond based upon Individual Self-Sufficiency Plans.
  • Utilize a Strengths Based Case Management model in working with vulnerable populations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all clients.  Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in record keeping.
  • Assist in FFT program development.
  • Assist in training of all FFT program specialists.
  • Ensure all aspects of VITA program is being executed in compliance with IRS regulations
  • Work with volunteers to implement supportive program i.e. VITA, mentors for FFT



  • A passion for the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas and Emergency Assistance Services.
  • Degree in Social Service and/or experience within the field, preferred
  • Must be willing to live by the agency's Values, where we are called to show Love, Patience, Kindness, Faithfulness, Self- Control and Joy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and respect people from a variety of social, economic and ethnic backgrounds
  • Ability to work in a team setting, including Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas colleagues, contractors and funding sources
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable car and vehicle insurance
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to travel between sites weekly
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish Speaking), strongly preferred



  • Successful client participation rates for the program
  • Successful implementation of mentor programming
  • Maintain compliance of funding agreements and grant reporting
  • Timely and accurate completion of paperwork requirements for contractors, funding sources and other departments of the organization
  • Monitored and appropriate staff productivity and effectiveness

Must be willing to be flexible with scheduling meetings which may include evenings
