Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings.  The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the implementation, delivery, coordination and supervision of hospice services provided consistent with Catholic Community Hospice's policies and procedures.   • Implements and monitors compliance with agency policies and procedures related to clinical services
  • Serves as a member of the clinical management team in order to address problems associated with the delivery of clinical services; identify staff development needs; put forth suggestions for appropriate changes in policies and procedures; participate in Performance Improvement activities; gives peer input to enhance and improve the hospice team.
  • Participates in and provides team leadership during regular IDT team meetings
  • Facilitates problem solving sessions and delivers team support.
  • Supervises the maintenance of medical records assuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with licensing regulations, certification standards, legal and ethical standards
  • Collects and reviews pertinent clinical data at team meetings
  • Revises care plans, completes care plans and charts of discharged patients.
  • Monitors documentation of all team nurses and home health aides
  • Participates in staff selection, hiring, and orientation of new personnel as appropriate to team responsibilities
  • Conducts supervisory visits to allow for observation of clinical performance of assigned team members
  • Submits written performance evaluations in accordance with policy requirements
  • Provides information for inclusion in written performance evaluations for all staff assigned in team in cooperation with appropriate members of the clinical management team
  • Provides leadership and counsel to clinical personnel to enhance staff development
  • Identifies need for staff education and assists in the development of in-service programs for the IDT team.
  • Assists agency in education/training programs
  • Communicates all pertinent clinical and administrative information to the Administrator and all team members

  1. Registered nurse with current licensure to practice professional nursing in the state.

  1. Graduate of National League of Nursing accredited school of nursing; BSN or Master's preferred


  1. Current MO & KS licensure


  1. Minimum of five to ten (5-10) years' experience in hospice/home care or critical care setting


  1. Minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory experience in Healthcare setting at Director level


  1. Certified Hospice & Palliative Nurse (CHPN), preferred


  1. Demonstrated skills in administrative performance, including expertise in written/oral communication, supervision of staff, documentation requirements, service coordination and case management.


  1. Possess excellent observation, good nursing judgment and communication skills. Understands hospice philosophy and issues of death/dying


  1. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order
