POSITION SUMMARY

 

Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings. The Social Media Specialist works closely with the Director of Marketing to develop robust, integrated social media strategies that continue to build awareness and drive engagement for Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas. In addition, this position will provide general support to the Marketing team assisting with copy writing, graphic design, photography and videography.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create daily social media content that highlights our outreach efforts, donors, grants, programs, services and social enterprises.
  • Maintain effective, cohesive and engaging brand messaging in coordination with marketing initiatives.
  • Develop and implement a social media content calendar that aligns with our marketing strategy.
  • Fully understand and integrate all social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Monitor and respond in a timely manner to social media requests, coordinating with staff so that all those seeking engagement with our organization have their needs met.
  • Identify negative comments and sentiments and respond accordingly.
  • Work effectively with other groups across the organization to gather and effectively communicate content.
  • Provide website content to Interactive Media Manager.
  • Stay up-to-date with digital technologies and social media best practices.
  • Prepare monthly reports analyzing audience growth and user engagement.

 

Other Duties:

  • Design flyers, invitations, ads, brochures and other marketing materials.
  • Take event photos/video. Events sometimes occur in the evening or occasionally on weekends.

 

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1-2 years digital marketing and social media experience preferred.
  • Skilled in existing social platforms and emerging social channels.
  • Demonstrated understanding of digital and social analytic tools.
  • Proficient in Word and Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofing skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple departments.
